An Experimental Study of a Combined Oblique Cylindrical Weir and Gate Structure

In the present study, effects of different oblique angles and diameters on cylindrical weir below a gate as combined device have been studied experimentally. For this purpose, sixteen models weir-gate structures tested in laboratory flume. These had four α (300, 450, 600, 900). each angle, diameter changed times (4, 7.3, 9, 11cm). The results all indicate that theoretical discharge (Qth) is inversely proportional to ratio height (D/h) length (L/h). As increases decrease, actual (Qact) increases. A general expression was established linking Qth/g1/2h5/2 coefficient Cd with D/h, L/h, alfa. ranged from 0.55 0.99 for various decreased angle increased. strong correlation observed between estimated calculated values.
